RuneScape Java Client for Ubuntu

This is not a real client, but this is how i play RuneScape on Ubuntu.

First create a folder

mkdir ~/programs/runescape

Now change to this folder, and download the JAR file provided by Jagex.

cd ~/programs/runescape
wget runescape.com/downloads/jagexappletviewer.jar

Now you can run runescape from terminial with following command

java \
    -XX:+AggressiveOpts \
    -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions \
    -XX:+DisableExplicitGC \
    -XX:+TieredCompilation \
    -XX:ReservedCodeCacheSize=256m \
    -XX:+UseAdaptiveGCBoundary \
    -XX:SurvivorRatio=16 \
    -XX:+UseParallelGC \
    -Dhttps.protocols=TLSv1,TLSv1.1,TLSv1.2 \
    -Duser.home=/home/YOURUSERNAME \
    -cp /home/YOURUSERNAME/programs/runescape/jagexappletviewer.jar \
    -Dcom.jagex.config=http://www.runescape.com/k=3/l=0/jav_config.ws \
    -Xms512m -Xmx512m -Xss2m \
    -Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true jagexappletviewer /share/img/RuneScape3

In above command, replace YOURUSERNAME with your actual user name. This you can find with command

whoami
